This is my blog on football, or 'soccer' in Liverpool, it has a passage about myself and about my icons.

Everton F.C Academy

All though I support Liverpool with a passion, I am currently on trial at Everton Academy in Netherton, Liverpool. I train Tuesday and Thursday every week, and the training is great. The coaches are really down to earth and extremely professional at the same time. I hope one day to be part of the Academy, and hopefully make it 2 professional one day. My friend Luke was at the Academy with me, and is currently with Merseyside schoolboys, we have been friends for a long time and could make it as professionals one day, one thing splits us apart though, he supports EVERTON!!

The Result

Well, today was a day of mixed emotions. Let's start with the bad news. Liverpool were beaten by Manchester United 2-0, goals from Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand sealed the win. On a brighter, more personal note, my local amateur team won 8-0, i kept a clean sheet which is always a good thing. I was up early hours last night and manged to catch a bit of the Baseball 'World Series' game between the Detroit Tigers and The St. Louis Cardinals, and St. Louis Cardinals won, if any baseball fans could inform me on more about baseball, please leave a comment.

Liverpool v Manchester United

Probably, the biggest game in English football, its Liverpool and Manchester United. The rivalry is intense between both clubs and Sunday's game, will definitely prove no different from the games of the past. I will have to mention two stunners Liverpool have scored past Manchester United and past Fabien Barthez. Steven Gerrard's goal from distance, which sailed into the top left corner at the Kop end. Also, the goal that made John Arne Riise a hero at Anfield, a free kick, which nestled into the top left hand corner at the Kop end... AGAIN! Tomorrows game will be great and I will be watching Liverpool kick start their season. My predictions are 2-1 Liverpool, with Gerrard and Peter Crouch on the scoresheet for Liverpool. Let's wait and see. Oh I'll also tell you how my game for my local amateur U-15s finished tomorrow along with the small matter of LIVERPOOL FC V MANCHESTER UNITED FC.

Me & Football

I'm smigger, i'm from Liverpool, and i support Liverpool FC. Football is an enormous thing in my life. Liverpool has several amateur football leagues for all ages, as long as you can kick a ball, you can be part of a team in Liverpool. I have good expeience of football for a 15 year old, as i am a trialist at Everton FC academy, and know a proffesional footballer really well. i hope you enjoy my blog and please leave your comments.

My Number 1 Liverpool Moment - One Night in May

25th May 2005 UEFA Champions League Final. AC Milan got a free kick in under a minute of the start, it was crossed in and Paolo Maldini met it with a volley into the ground and past Jerzy Dudek. 1-0 Milan. Then, Shevchenko was through on goal, and cut it back to Hernan Crespo who put it in. 2-0 Milan. Liverpool where fighting back and a handball decision went against Liverpool, when they should have had a penalty kick, and on te counter attack, Hernan Crespo was sent through on goal and he expertly chipped the advancing Jerzy Dudek. 3-0 Milan.
Half - Time came, it would have took a miracle for Liverpool to bring the 3 goal deficit back. Dietmar Hamann was brought on, which proved to be an excellent tactical choice by Rafael Benitez. The second half kicked off and Liverpool came out fighting, then John Arne Riise delivered a great cross into the AC Milan area and Steven Gerrard Headed it in from 12 yards out, right into Dida's Bottom left corner. 3-1 Milan, maybe there was a chance, just maybe. Then a few minutes later Liverpool passed it along the mid-field and it fell to Vladmir Smicer who struck it from distance, and it nestled into the Bottom left corner, 3-2 Milan, Liverpool where back in it. Then Steven Gerrard burst through the AC Milan Defence and was brought down by Gennaro Gattuso in the area, the ref gave a penalty, up stood Xabi Alonso, who had his penalty saved by Dida, but followed up and put it into the top corner. 3-3. Unbeleivable. Extra time came. Players where fatigued and dudek made an excellent double save from Shevchenko. The dreaded penalties
arrived, up stepped Hamann who pu his into the net, then Serginho blasted his over the bar. Then Liverpool only missed one penalty, and AC Milan missed another. Up stepped Shevchenk, the most prolific goal scorer in europe, against Jerzy Dudek, he did the spaghetti legs, trying to syke out Shevchenko, and he hit it down the middle Dudek dived right and saved with his legs. Liverpool Champions of Europe for the 5th Time!

Liverpool Football Club

Liverpool Football Club is the most succesful football club in England, but since the start of the 1990's they haven't won the league, but, since Rafael Benitez took over management at the club, they have gone from strength to strength, he has won 2 major honours in two seasons (Champions League and FA Cup), and got to the Carling Cup Final where they were beaten by Chelsea FC, and also won the super cup.

European Cup - 5 Times

Uefa Cup - 3 Times

League Title - 18 Times

F.A Cup - 7 times

European Super Cup - 3 Times

League Cup - 7 Times

Favourite footballer

My favourite footballer is Steven Gerrard. I am currently reading his autobiography which is excellent. I like Steven Gerrard as he loves football like me, he tries 100% every game, and of course he captains Liverpool FC. His best moments where against AC Milan in the 2005 champions league final. The 2006 F.A Cup final Against West Ham United, and The final group game in the 2004/2005 Champions league against Olympiakos.
